How to Make

  • In a food processor, add all the Kafta ingredients except for the canola oil. Pulse until you get a homogenous mixture.
  • Shape the Kafta into equal meatballs (you can choose the desired size depending on your preferences)
  • On high heat, add canola oil in a skillet and fry the meatballs until all sides are browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sour cherry sauce ingredients and lower to medium heat. Season with salt and ground black pepper and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Return meatballs to skillet turning them gently so they are all coated with the sauce. Sprinkle with Colby and Monterey Jack cheeses and simmer until the cheese melts.
  • Serve hot topped with a sprinkle of chopped parsley and freshly baked pita on the side
