How to Make

  • Place dates and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium low and stir occasionally, cook to a thick consistency.
  • Stir in lemon juice.
  • Preheat oven to 175⁰C.
  • Cut the edges of the sliced bread.
  • Place 1 layer in a baking dish.
  • Pour the dates mixture on top of the layer.
  • Cover with another layer of bread.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • Let the date bars cool down then transfer to the fridge for 2 hours before cutting.
