How to Make
Place dates and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium low and stir occasionally, cook to a thick consistency.
Stir in lemon juice.
Preheat oven to 175⁰C.
Cut the edges of the sliced bread.
Place 1 layer in a baking dish.
Pour the dates mixture on top of the layer.
Cover with another layer of bread.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Let the date bars cool down then transfer to the fridge for 2 hours before cutting.
